What to expect
How about visiting the famous Opéra Garnier after its usual opening hours? This musical shrine is visited by over a million people every year, and is the only theatre in the world that is both a hotspot of art and creativity, and a stunning monument in its own right.
Discover the majesty of the grand staircase and the beautiful foyer, built to replicate the Galerie des Glaces of the Palace of Versailles, surrounded by a ring of light. Your tour guide will share some of the many stories surrounding the construction of the building, designed by Charles Garnier under Napoleon III in the latter half of the 19th century. The young architect was a great lover of art and of women, which is the reason for his choice of red as the predominant colour within the building: the reflection of the red walls was meant to give female visitors a beautiful rosy complexion.
After hours tour of the Opera house's public areas (after the Opera shuts to the general public).
This tour does not include a backstage tour of the Opera Garnier (premium offer proposed by the Opera Garnier itself).
The Palais Garnier, being a show site, for technical or artistic reasons, we cannot guarantee systematic access to the Auditorium.
Because of new securitu measures, it is requested to all the visotrs to come 30 minutes before the start of the visit.
