Getting around in Paris by bike

You can rent bicycles in Paris and in some nearby suburbs with Vélib'. Vélib' is a self-service bike rental system that operates 24/7. You can pick up a bike at one of the 1,800 stations in Paris and the surrounding cities and drop it off at any other station as long as a dock is available. To rent a bike, you need a chip-enabled bank card and you can choose a 1-day subscription (1.70 euros) or a 7-day subscription (8 euros). Once you have a subscription, you can take as many rides as you want during its validity. The first 30 minutes of each ride are free, and beyond that, you will be charged 1 euro for each additional half-hour and 2 euros for the second half-hour. Please note that Vélib' is not recommended for children under 14 years old due to their weight.

Numerous bike lanes have been established in Paris in recent years, and Vélib' bikes are well-suited for navigating the city (equipped with a basket, lock, and three speeds).
