The Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris

Situated just a stone's throw from both the Champs Elysées and the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d'Art Moderne (also known as MaM) is home to one of the most remarkable collections of modern and contemporary art in Europe. Founded in 1961 in one of the wings of the Palais de Tokyo, MaM seeks to showcase every aspect of contemporary creativity, whether that's in the form of photography, sculpture, paintings or installations.

With a collection of more than 13,000 works, the Musée d'Art Moderne is able to tell the spellbinding story of 20th century art, weaving iconic figures with lesser-known themes. From abstraction, arte povera and new realism to fauvism and cubism, the museum provides a wonderful way to explore the trends and ideas behind the the great schools of modern art. When you visit MaM, you can contemplate works by a host of legendary names. Spend some time with the beautiful creations of Picasso, Klein, Braque, Chagall or Giacometti, along with two versions of "La Danse" by Matisse, or Raoul Dufy's monumental masterpiece "La Fée électricité."

Along with its main collections, the Musée d'Art Moderne also offers a constantly rotating series of temporary exhibitions which bring to light works by today's finest artists.
