The Curse

The Magic Flute Second Chapter (working title)

An opera by Damon Albarn.

Musician, producer, songwriter, and singer of the bands Blur and Gorillaz, Damon Albarn is also the composer of acclaimed operas such as Monkey: Journey to the West (2007), Dr Dee (2012), Wonder.land (2015), and Le Vol du Boli (2020).

For Lido 2 Paris, Jean-Luc Choplin commissioned him to create worldwide the sequel to Mozart's The Magic Flute, imagined by Goethe after the great composer's death, and never before realized.

What has become of Pamina and Tamino? Will their kingdom withstand the threat posed by the Queen of the Night, ready to do anything for revenge? Are heroes always who they seem to be? The flute has not yet revealed all its mysteries.
