Champ de Mars

With its area of nearly 25 hectares, the Champ-de-Mars is one of the largest green spaces in the capital; it extends from the esplanade of Trocadéro to the École Militaire. This vast public garden is undoubtedly a highly frequented place throughout the year, but what makes it a must-visit location is obviously the Eiffel Tower: one can explore its "hidden side" while strolling on the Champ-de-Mars.

It is one of the few places in Paris that attracts both tourists and Parisians alike: the most patient ones can visit the Eiffel Tower and enjoy a meal on its first floor at 58 Tour Eiffel, to admire the view and French gastronomy. The more impatient ones can head towards the Bateaux Parisiens that depart from the quays located at the entrance of the Champ-de-Mars, offering an exceptional tour of the capital.

Parisian families, on the other hand, make use of the green spaces for sports activities, sharing picnics during the summer, or simply introducing new activities to their children: carousels, pony rides, and even Guignol puppet shows. In the evening, the Champ-de-Mars regularly opens up to concerts. In short, it is a welcoming space that is best explored towards the end of summer, when the weather is still pleasant and the lawns are less crowded.
