What to expect

Home to the General Staff of the Republican Guard since 1895, the Célestins quarter opens its doors to you for a one-and-a-half-hour tour. Explore the behind-the-scenes of this place and meet the Republican Guard's cavalry. During your visit, you will discover the training of warhorses in the Battesti arena and the history of the French Guard from 1802 to the present day in the Museum of Traditions.

Unusual Tour to Explore

During the Bastille Day parade, you most likely saw the riders of the Republican Guard. Today, discover their living environment and training routines. The Republican Guard is formed to protect the highest-ranking members of the French government and foreign authorities on missions within French territory. They also have the responsibility of contributing to public safety on horseback throughout France. Comprising three distinct units, you will find the cavalry regiment and two infantry regiments, along with the motorcyclist squadron and a 120-member professional orchestra. In addition to the stables housing 140 horses of the first squadron and the band, you will also come across a splendid Eiffel Tower-style riding arena where the riders practice every day.

Please note that since the Republican Guard is a professional establishment, the riders are not obliged to train during visits.
