The Church of the Madeleine is a Roman Catholic church located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It was designed over 85 years starting in 1763, as a temple in honor of Napoleon's army. The building is 108 meters long, 43 meters wide, and 30 meters high. It is surrounded by 52 Corinthian columns.
To the south of the church is the Place de la Concorde, to the east is the Place Vendôme, and to the west is the Saint-Augustin church.
