Common questions

Where is the Aquarium de Paris?

The Aquarium de Paris, also known as Cinéaqua, is located in Paris's 16th arrondissement at 5 avenue Albert de Mun, in the Trocadéro gardens below the Palais de Chaillot, just a few metres from the Seine and the Pont d'Iéna.

How much are tickets for the Aquarium de Paris?

During peak periods (weekends, school holidays and public holidays), admission to the Aquarium de Paris costs €27.50 for adults aged 13 and over. Children aged 3 to 12 inclusive pay a reduced rate of €20. Entry to Cinéaqua is free for babies and children under 3. During off-peak periods, the adult price is €19 and the child price €16. Reduced rates of €16 are available at the ticket office on presentation of proof for jobseekers, students and seniors (60+). People with reduced mobility and their companions also benefit from a preferential rate of €16 on site.

What is included in the ticket price?

The ticket includes access to all areas of the Aquarium de Paris as well as all the activities offered on the day of your visit (including the cinema, the shows in the tanks and the activities for children). Tickets are valid for the whole day and you can come and go as you please (to have a picnic, for example).

Where can I park near the Aquarium de Paris?

Although street parking is possible around the Trocadéro, spaces are rare as this is the tourist and cultural heart of Paris: besides the Aquarium de Paris, you'll find the Eiffel Tower, the Musée de l'Homme, the Palais de Chaillot, the Musée Guimet and the Musée d'Art Moderne. We therefore strongly recommend using a paid car park and even booking your space near the Aquarium de Paris in advance. The nearest car park is the Kléber-Trocadéro car park at 65 avenue Kléber, 75016 Paris. Expect to pay around €5.50 per hour.

What are the opening hours of the Aquarium de Paris?

The Aquarium de Paris is open every day of the year except 14 July, on weekdays and at weekends, from 10am to 7pm. Ticket offices usually close 1 hour before closing time. On Saturdays, late openings extend the fun until 10pm (ticket offices reopen from 7pm to 9pm).

How long does it take to visit the Aquarium de Paris?

Allow about an hour and a half to see the whole Aquarium de Paris. If you have curious children, you may need a good half-day, with essential stops at the cinemas, the touch pool, the shark tunnel and, if you're lucky, the mermaid show.

How do I get to the Aquarium de Paris?

Although you can drive to the Trocadéro aquarium, we strongly recommend public transport, especially the metro (Trocadéro station, lines 6 and 9). The attraction can also be reached by RER C, but the nearest station, Champ-de-Mars/Tour Eiffel, is about a fifteen-minute walk away. If you are visiting Paris and have chosen the Batobus river shuttles as an alternative means of transport, get off at the Eiffel Tower stop.

Is the Aquarium de Paris air-conditioned?

The Aquarium de Paris is heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer, making it a more than welcome cool break if you are visiting the Chaillot hill area in July or August.

What is there to see near the Aquarium de Paris?

The Aquarium de Paris is located in the Trocadéro district, which is packed with must-see cultural and tourist sites, starting with the Eiffel Tower, the Musée de l'Homme, the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, the Bateaux Parisiens, the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, the Wine Museum and the Palais de Tokyo.
