Reviews of the Paris Zoological Park

Vincennes Zoo: what is it?
Inaugurated in 1934, the Paris Zoological Park, more commonly known as Vincennes Zoo, is located in the far east of Paris in the Bois de Vincennes. It is particularly distinguished by its large artificial rock standing 65 meters high. Over time, the facilities became cramped for the resident animals, and renovation work was undertaken between 2008 and 2014. Today, with an area of 14.5 hectares, the Zoo is home to 180 species and more than 2,000 animals: iconic ones like giraffes and rhinoceroses, lesser-known ones like meerkats and manatees, and some rarer ones like Humboldt penguins.
Vincennes Zoo: around 5 biozones
The zoo is organized around 5 biozones: Madagascar, Amazon-Guyana, Europe, Africa, and Patagonia. The architectural and landscaping arrangements are appreciated, the paths are wide and clean, welcoming for children and strollers. The enclosures are quite spacious to optimize the comfort of the animals. Additionally, this allows visitors to have multiple observation points. The signage is practical, with the identification card of the observed animals. We enjoyed strolling through the rainforest to encounter lemurs, chameleons, and sloths, observing the imposing jaguars and pumas, and touching the manatees against their wall.
Our opinion on the Vincennes Zoo: Fun activities
Throughout the visit, fun activities are offered to children: take a long jump to compete with the frog or the puma, compare their arms to those of the eagle, admire the height of the giraffe's neck. Other activities such as feeding the animals or veterinary exercises are also offered.
Discovery of the Blob
We visited the 2019 novelty, the "Blob zone": this yellow unicellular creature appeared 500 million years ago. It has the ability to multiply or divide at will. Even without a brain, it can move and feed itself.
Prices and Hours of the Vincennes Zoo
The visit lasted about 2 hours excluding coffee breaks. On site, several dining areas are open but it remains very expensive for what is offered. Picnic areas are available but it was too cold. Finally, even though there are several ticket counters, we advise you to buy your tickets for the Vincennes Zoo in advance, at the same price. Upon arrival at the entrance turnstiles, you scan all the tickets from your smartphone and you're good to go.
