Discover the other sightseeing cruises in Paris

A true institution since 1949, the Bateaux-Mouches popularized sightseeing cruises departing from Pont de l'Alma, but Paris is home to many other companies worth discovering. To experience the most central boarding point in the capital, the discovery of the Seine from Square du Vert-Galant in the heart of the Île de la Cité remains a great option. At the foot of the Iron Lady, two direct competitors offer their own vision of the river: the large fleet with commentary in fourteen languages from Port de la Bourdonnais and the more intimate experience offered by Vedettes de Paris. Parents looking for a shared activity will prefer the interactive cruise designed for young travelers and its adapted storyline. To turn the Seine into a dynamic way of exploring, the one-day river transport pass valid at nine stops remains very practical. And if you are looking to diversify your perspectives, leave the Seine with the 2h30 navigation between locks and the Bastille vault of Paris Canal or with the historic cruise on the waters of northeastern Paris offered by Canauxrama, two alternatives that reveal another Paris, more secret and more popular.

Common questions

What are the 2026 prices for a sightseeing cruise aboard the Bateaux-Mouches in Paris?

  • The ticket price for a sightseeing cruise by boat is €19 for adults instead of €20. Children under 12 benefit from a reduced fare of € 9 instead of € 10. The sightseeing cruise on the Seine is free for babies and children under 4 years old.

Where can you board the Bateaux-Mouches for a cruise on the Seine?

  • The Bateaux-Mouches Company is located on the Right Bank, at Port de la Conférence in the eighth arrondissement of Paris, right at the foot of the Pont de l’Alma. Other companies on the Seine offer river cruises such as the Bateaux Parisiens, which depart from Port de la Bourdonnais at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

How long does a sightseeing cruise by Bateaux-Mouches last in Paris?

  • A river cruise on the Seine generally lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour 10 minutes.

What are the departure times for Bateaux-Mouches sightseeing cruises?

High season (April to October)

  • Cruise times: Monday to Sunday, departures every 30 to 45 minutes between 10 AM and 10 PM. An additional departure at 10:30 PM on Saturdays.
    Low season (November to March)
  • Cruise times: One departure every 45 minutes between 10:15 AM and 3:30 PM, then every 30 minutes from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Frequency and departure times are increased during school holidays.

Are pets allowed on board the Bateaux-Mouches?

  • For safety and hygiene reasons, Bateaux-Mouches cannot accept dogs on the boats, except guide dogs for the visually impaired.

Are there any stops during the Seine cruise?

  • The sightseeing cruise operated by the Bateaux-Mouches Company does not make any stops. It takes you around the main monuments of Paris between the Eiffel Tower and the tip of Île Saint Louis. If you are considering making stops along the Seine and using the boats as a means of transportation, we recommend using the Batobus shuttle service instead.

Which monuments can you see during a cruise on the Seine?

  • The sightseeing cruise departing from the Pont de l’Alma takes you around Paris’s must-see sites and monuments: the route passes by the Louvre Museum, the Hôtel de Ville, the Conciergerie, Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris, the Musée d’Orsay, the Trocadéro and, of course, the Eiffel Tower.

What tourist attractions are there around the Bateaux-Mouches?

  • Before or after a cruise on the Seine with the Bateaux-Mouches, you are in the center of Paris, at an equal distance (approximately 1 km) from the Champs-Élysées, its luxury boutiques, its Lido de Paris cabaret, its Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, with the Pont d’Iéna at its foot and the Trocadéro opposite. Next to the Pont de l’Alma, culture lovers will not be left out, with the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and the Musée Yves-Saint Laurent just a few meters away. If you have opted for a night cruise on the Seine, continue the experience with a show at the Crazy Horse de Paris, located on the other side of Place de l’Alma at the entrance to Avenue George V.

Should you book a Bateaux-Mouches sightseeing cruise in advance?

  • Ticket counters and automatic ticket machines allow you to purchase tickets on site. By buying your tickets online, however, you can save yourself a (sometimes) long queue by scanning your barcodes directly at the turnstiles. This will allow you not to miss the next departure.

Are there group rates for river cruises on the Bateaux-Mouches?

  • For groups of more than 20 people, we recommend contacting us to check our preferential rates by calling 01 82 83 12 04 or by filling out the group quote form. In addition, it is mandatory to book a specific time slot for a group of more than 40 people in order to guarantee you a place on the boat.

Is it possible to privatize a Bateaux-Mouches boat?

  • It is of course possible to privatize a boat for a cruise in Paris. Request a group quote from us, describing your event project on the Seine in detail.

Are the Bateaux-Mouches accessible to people with disabilities?

  • People with reduced mobility are, of course, welcome on board the Bateaux-Mouches. The embarkation point is easily accessible thanks to a very gently sloping access ramp from the Pont de l’Alma. Toilets on the quayside are also provided for people with reduced mobility. The company's sightseeing cruise boats are all wheelchair accessible and can be accessed via removable ramps (including electric mobility scooters for people with reduced mobility).

the tour is perfectly fine. It takes you up and down the river for just over an hour which is plenty. It goes from the louvre to the eiffel tower and provides a brief commentary of every landmark along the way.
Some improvements would be better restrooms, improve the tannoy so that it can be heard when seated outside and consider providing a snack bar

A great way to view the city
This is a very popular activity, so be prepared for crowds and a bit of chaos when boarding. Once on the boat, it's an enjoyable 1hr visit of some of the most popular sites in Paris. Definitely recommend doing this tour at the end of the day when it's a bit cooler and the lights on the monuments/buildings are on.

Love a boat trip
We booked the tour online - easy process - & were able to board a boat that suited us. We sat upstairs outside, tho there is an inside seating area too. The hour tour takes you past all the main tourist attractions & is a great way to see the city. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour & thought it was good value.

Interesting river boat trip
Very interesting tour by river round the island of Notre Dame & back past Eiffel Tower, taking in many more famous sights. Only grumble couldn’t hear the commentary most of the time so not always sure what we were looking at!

We were lucky that the boat was only 20% occupied so we easily moved around to view from the bow or other locations. It's a good one hour cruise and you see a lot from the river. The commentary was difficult to hear.

Great trip, I was a bit concerned that taking the boat at night we would miss some sites but we did not. I enjoyed the trip.
