What to expect

Less than 45 minutes away from Paris in the Yvelines department, come and explore the magnificent Thoiry Zoo. When you gaze at the Château de Thoiry, it's hard to imagine that its park hides a slice of Africa. Yet, it was the first African reserve opened in France back in 1967. By constantly challenging the norms of zoos, Thoiry remains an essential destination for all animal lovers. Everything is done, designed, and organized to optimize visitors' experience, allowing them to get up close to the animals. With a safari section that can be explored by car and another more traditional section to be explored on foot, not to mention the visit to the classified castle and its gardens, the Thoiry estate is an excellent idea for a family day trip near Paris!

In winter, from October to March, people flock to Thoiry for its famous Thoiry Wild Lights lantern festival.

Le plus beau safari de France
Published over a year ago
