Situated in the French department of Yvelines and less than 45 minutes from Paris, come and explore the beautiful animal park of Thoiry. Opened in 1967, the château de Thoiry was the first African reserve opened in France and remains a must-see zoo for all animal lovers. Everything has been set in place in order to allow visitors to get as close as possible to the animals. With part of the safari by car and part by foot, as well as a castle tour with historical gardens, Thoiry is a superb idea for a family day out from Paris!

In January :

The Safari and the Zoo are open from 11 am to 5 pm on the weekends.

The Thoiry Wild Lights Festival from 5 pm to 9:30 pm on the weekends.

In February :

The Safari and Zoo are open from 11am to 5pm every Wednesday, Weekends and from February 25th to March 10th. (Winter holidays in zone C)

The Thoiry Wild Lights Festival from 6 pm to 9:30 pm every Wednesday, Friday, weekends and from February 25th to March 10th. (Winter holidays in zone C)

In March:

The Safari and the Zoo are open:

From 11 am to 5 pm every day from 1st to 10th. (Winter holidays in zone C)
From 10 am to 5 pm from 13th to 31th. (Note that the Park is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays of the month from 11.)

The Thoiry Wild Lights Festival from 6 pm to 9:30 pm every day from 1st to 10th.

Come to Zafari Zoo of Thoiry
Train
From Paris  : Take Transilien line N (Paris Gare Montparnasse <=> Dreux) to Montfort-l'Amaury station - Méré then take the shuttle bus (zebra bus) to the park. The shuttle runs every Wednesday and Saturday during school holidays (from February to October and during the summer holidays), departing from Montfort-l'Amaury-Méré station at 9:36 am for a return at 5:25 pm.
Car
Access : Take the A13 motorway to Porte d'Auteuil. At the fork, take the A12 motorway then the N12 direction Dreux. Take the Thoiry exit, follow the D76 then the D11 direction Thoiry.
