What to expect

Visit the Marine Hotel is one of the most emblematic buildings in Paris. Located at 2 Concorde Square in the Eighth arrondissement of Paris, it has been a symbol of the city since its construction in 1774.

Ange-Jacques Gabriel is the architect who designed it. Born in 1698 in Paris, he is one of the most famous architects of his time with the title of First Architect of the King. Among his best-known works are Concorde Square and the Crillon Hotel, the Compiègne Castle, the Petit Trianon and the Royal Opera of the Palace of Versailles, an extension of the Louvre Museum, the Luxembourg Palace, and the Rambouillet Castle.

The Marine Hotel is also part of the National Monuments Center, a group that oversees and maintains many of the most important historical monuments in Paris such as the Triumphal Arch, the Holy Chapel or the Concierge Building, as well as throughout France such as the Abbey of Mont Saint Michael.

Today, the Marine Hotel is open to the public and offers a unique glimpse into the history of Paris. Visitors can admire its magnificent interiors refurnished in 18th-century style as well as enjoy a breathtaking view of Concorde Square and the Champs-Élysées.

The Marine Hotel also houses the magnificent Al Thani Collection, one of the most impressive private art collections in the world. The collection, presented by the Al Thani Collection Foundation, consists of more than 4,000 artworks from around the world, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. The Al Thani Collection was created in the 1990s by Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, former Emir of Qatar. He was passionate about art and collected works from all styles and eras.
